Belarus changes visa rules

Amended Visa Rules of the Republic of Belarus are effective as from 9 April, 2017, as prescribed by Decree No. 253 by the Council of Ministers dated 6 April, 2017.

Privileges are now effective for those who apply for Belarus entry visas at the National Airport Minsk

1) You do not have to attach visa supporting documents when applying for a short-term (up to 30 days) entry visa needed for:

— business trip

— participation in sporting or cultural events

— trip for private purposes

2) Short-term entry visa for tourist purposes may be issued subject to hotel reservation or another type of accomodation reservation. The reservation document may be sent via fax or another communication channel. Visa will be issued for a period of the documented reservation, but not more than for 10 days.

These privileges apply to citizens of “migration safe” countries only.

Decisions on granting this privilege will be rendered by head of Main Consular Directorate of the MFA, head of Foreigners Admission Department of Main Consular Directorate of the MFA and their deputies, upon examination of visa application.

Double entry and exit visas are offered by Citizenship and Migration Offices

You can now obtain a double entry and exit visa for a period of up to 3 months. This would be of foremost interest for those foreigners who do not need an annual multiple visa (those who leave Belarus once a year, for instance, for their annual leave).

Also note that you can obtain the double entry and exit visa more than once — however, only within the frame of your temporary residence permit or travel ID.
